Nigerian Air Force General Recruitment Requirement 2020

The Nigerian Air Force is inviting all eligible citizens of Nigeria both male and female who are fit and qualify to work to submit their application provided the meet the following guidelines as stated clearly.

Nationality: All applicants must be certified citizens of Nigeria by origin.

Age: The age bracket to apply for NAF recruitment is between the ages of 18 and 25 years for tradewomen/men and between the ages of 18 and 22 years for non-trademen/women. Applicants for the positions of assistant chaplains/imams or drivers should be between the ages of 18 and 28 years.

Height: The Minimum required height is 1.66 meters or 5.4ft for males and 1.63 meters or 5.3ft for females.

Medical Status: Applications are expected to be from medically fitted Nigerians who will be able to withstand the training exercise.

Marital Status: Due to the nature of the NAF recruitment screening, applicant must be single at this period in order not to have a divided attention.

Eligibility for the Airforce Application Form

  1. Local Government Certificate of Origin
  2. Parent/Guardian Consent Form
  3. Acknowledgement Form
  4. Attestation form which should be signed by a Military Officer or Local Government Chairman of the Applicant
  5. Applicants must be free of any conviction(s) on criminal records.
  6. Applicant must have any of this certificates WAEC/NECO/GCE
  7. Applicants for the category of non-trademen/women must have a minimum credits in 5 subjects including Mathematics and English Language in SSCE/NECO/GCE/NABTEB obtained in not more than two sittings and not later than 6 years.
  8.  Applicants for the trademen/women category must possess OND, NABTEB, RN/RM Certificate.
  9. Candidates with only Trade Test Certificate must possess minimum of 2 passes in GCE/SSCE/NECO including English
  10. Applicant must have a Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.

The Nigerian Air Force recruitment application will start from 24th july 2020 for airmen and airwomen recruitment exercise.

After a successful applications, all candidates are to wait till the names of shortlisted candidates is published. Those who are selected for further recruitment exercise will have to appear in the screening venues with the following documents and items;

  • originals and photocopies of their credentials,
  • two white vests,
  • two blue PT shorts,
  • a pair of canvas shoes,
  • and four passport photographs.

Deadline for Nigerian Air Force Recruitment

The Nigeria Air Force Recruitment application deadline has been specified, all online application closes on 21st August 2020. All interested candidates are expected to submit their application before the deadline.

Note that the screening aptitude test and other screening exercise is schedule to hold from 24 September – 12 November 2020.

Nigerian Airforce Available Careers

This are the main careers found under the Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

  1. Regular Combatant (RC): This is a 5 years course of intensive military training at the Nigerian Defence Academy. Candidates of younger age between 17 years and 21 years old are only admitted into the Academy. The first 4 years is basically for both academic and military training while the last one year is only for a dedicated military training, which candidate will be awarded a Bachelor Degree and also a presidential commission certificate to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Nigerian Army.

  1. Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC): This program was created in order to enable interested civilians to work under the military, it is for both military personnel and graduate civilians from any professional field of study.

This commission program is an intensive military training which is carried out for six months after which successful candidate will be commissioned into the rank of flying officers in the NAF.

  1. Basic Military Training Course (BMTC): The Basic Military Training Course is a Short Period of military training for the period of 6 months scheduled for Airmen and Airwomen.This is only for those candidates who possess SSCE Certificate, ND certificate, NABTEB, RN/RM/NCE or City & Guild Certificate and Other Trade Test Certificate.Applicants for Non-Tradesmen/Women are within this age limit of 18 and 22, and Tradesmen/Women with the age limit of 18 and 25 years.
